The October 2011 Visa Bulletin was released today. There were small gains made, but many categories are still retrogressed. This is disappointing because October is the beginning of the fiscal year, and we hope to see more gains during that month.
All family categories for countries other than Mexico and the Philippines are in this century and made modest progress of 2 to 6 weeks forward.
All the family categories for Mexico except 2A (Spouses and Children of Permanent Residents) remain in the 1990's and made modest progress forward by 1-5 weeks. The 2A Category for Mexico moved forward 5 weeks to October 15, 2008, but is still retrogressed from this time last year when it was in 2010.
The Philippines family categories made progress of 3-9 weeks. The Philippines is the only country to have family member waiting more than 23 years for a visa--4-Brothers and Sister of U.S. Citizens moved forward to August 1, 1988.
