On April 9, 2014, USCIS issued information on the renewal procedures for DACA recipients to receive an extension of DACA. These are preliminary guidelines and may be revised. USCIS is currently revising the I-821D, and renewals may not be submitted until the revised form is available (scheduled for 5/31/14).
Preliminary information regarding the procedure includes:
- File revised I-821D, I-765 and I-765WS with filing fee of $465.
- Forms may be filed 150 days before DACA expires.
- New supporting documents are needed only pertaining to removal proceedings or criminal history that were not submitted to USCIS in your prior request.
I suggest that you also gather proof regarding your education if you were "currently in school" when you filed your initial DACA request. You should be prepared to provide proof that (1) you have graduated from High School; (2) completed a GED; or (3) are currently in school on the date of your renewal request.
